In 2007, I graduated from ASU and started the next chapter of life…getting into the "job world." I worked with SummerShine Resort Ministry throughout the summers in my college years including the summer after I graduated. I realized then and now that our college "summers of freedom" are sadly limited! After working in Myrtle Beach, I returned home to look for a more permanent job. God soon opened a door that I had never expected. SummerShine was able to bring me on staff as a representative/recruiter. Not only was I able to have a job promoting and recruiting for a ministry I very much believed in, but I was able to build this position – since there had never been another person in the job! God has taught me so much about his faithfulness, and trusting Him in the unknowns of life. The period of waiting to see if this job was available was really hard. I felt like opportunities were passing me by while I continued to wait on the SummerShine role to open or close. I am now blessed to have a job in which I’m using my degree (public relations) and in which I have the chance to share salt and light of Christ with the world.
